Abstract
The article is devoted to analysis of figurative semantics of emotive phraseological units in Russian, Bulgarian and Polish languages associated with the reflection of natural and material codes of culture. It is established that inner form of given idioms is based on associative connections of emotional states and objects of nature (animals, plants, substances, liquids, etc.), and artefacts. Many of given images are universal for all analyzed languages, but their specific modification occurs, which depends on content of encyclopedic knowledges of native speakers.
