    Abstract

    The article is devoted to the peculiarities of organizing independent work of students of classical universities in the discipline “Physical Culture”. It is shown that independent work of students contributes to the development of independence, responsibility and organization, creative approach to solving problems of future professional activity. It is proved that the time allocated to the state standard for classroom activities is not enough even for the students to form a general, superficial view of physical culture, not including even its brief history and regional component. An exemplary system for the development of educational and methodological support for the independent work of students of classical universities on the discipline “Physical Culture”.
